CincyDance! In Washington Park

May 26, 2016

Feel-good can’t entire explain the CincyDance! In Washington Park event. Thousands of third graders descend on Washington Park in Cincinnati every year to perform a giant group dance. You rarely see so many smiling kids in one spot, and Cincinnati Ballet makes a big community impact through this initiative. So it’s a win-win, and a ton of fun to shoot.

Event videography is a must for any company that wants to communicate that “you had to be there” feeling. It’s what drives people to come next year. But promoting the event itself can be just as important. Nearly every event has extra opportunities to create an engaging video.

When I was started working on the CincyDance! project, I thought “certainly these kids are practicing before the big day right?” Of course they were. So I took the opportunity to get a little deeper into the content and went to visit one of the in-school breakdown sessions.

I even snuck in to capture the staff learning all the moves.
